Halloween 2014

Halloween this year was a blast! We were able to celebrate Halloween a couple of different times.

Here in Texas, pumpkins rot pretty quickly, so a day or two before Halloween we went to the pumpkin patch and got Kaiser a pumpkin (or as he  calls them, a bo-bot) to carve. He loves pumpkins so much! He was beyond thrilled to be surrounded by so many pumpkins that he ran from crate to crate sitting on them and picking them up! He was absolutely adorable. Here are some pumpkin patch pictures.

We then were able to go visit this cute little farm patch that is in Bryan. Scott couldn't go because of school but Kaiser and I had a great time seeing some animals, playing with more pumpkins, and seeing the sights. He loved it!
He loved the goats, and would yell "baaaaah" at them while feeding them :)

He didn't quite know what to think about the giant spider :/
That same night was our stake's "Trunk or Treat" party at the church. This year, Kaiser was a pirate! I made his hat and found a super cheap scarf and pants that I cut off at the bottom. He looked like the cutest pirate that there ever was! Oh, and you can't forget his pirate beard--Scott drew that on his face with my eyeliner. He didn't quite understand the whole "trick or treat" thing yet, of course, but he loved the candy part! He would choose only one candy from each basket and he'd want to hold it in his hand until we got to the next basket. He was adorable to go with! A first successful trick or treat experience I'd say!
Getting ready to go trick or treating!
Wanting to eat the candy IN the wrapper :)
He found the moon. "Moot," as he calls it.

It was a perfect first night of him trick or treating. Trunk or treating...whatever :)

Now we move to Halloween night! We heard of a little Halloween celebration happening over at a place called Wolf Pen Creek. We went to check it out and it was awesome! They had trick or treating, bouncy houses, food vendors, and even a petting zoo! So, we took kaiser around trick or treating again, and then took him to the petting zoo. He absolutely loved it! It was awesome to see as well--there were kangaroos, camels, goats, and there was even an ostrich! Kaiser had the best time, and we had the best time watching him!
He has a big scrape under his nose from falling earlier in the day :(
Everyone loved how cute he was!
Wanting to eat more candy, of course
He kept touching the goat's eye and saying "eyes" haha
Kaiser loved touching all the animals!
We had a great Halloween! Kaiser had such a blast! I'm glad that we were able to spend that time together as a family and to be able to experience different things down here in Texas. It has been so fun!

Our Logan getaway!

Kaiser and I made a trip out to Logan October 14-21st. It ended up working out really well in fact, because Scott had a conference with his MUP class that weekend and wouldn't have been around anyhow.

I was excited to get back, but anxious for the plane ride out. It is just a lot of work with having to carry his carseat the whole time. But we were excited to be there to see family!

We flew out of Houston--Kaiser was super stoked to watched the airplanes come and go. It was so cute!
Our plane rides were fantastic--we had a layover in Las Vegas so it was a little longer than we would have liked, but Kaiser did wonderfully and that relieved a lot of stress off of me.

My mom picked us up at 2300 Utah time, and we drove home to sleep. Kaiser luckily slept the whole ride home.

Our next few days are kind of a blur. Filled with playing with our favorite cousins, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and friends. We played outside numerous times, carved pumpkins, gave Kaiser a haircut, went shopping and Grandma and Grandpa spoiled him with some new toys, went to dinner, and so much more! Here are some pictures:
The first morning we were there--Kaiser didn't lose any time finding his old favorite toys!
Playing in the sandbox with Boston
Just eating pizza and drinking juice with grandma

Of course you gotta get some time on papa's motorcycle

After--what a stud!

He can get papa to do pretty much anything he wants!

Carving pumpkins!

He loves the lawnmower at grandma's and papa's house
Wrapped around his finger--as it should be :)
And then for the hard part--time for all of our goodbyes. The week went by super quickly as I knew it would. But it was fantastic to see our family and to be able to spend at least a little bit of time with each one.

Grandma took us to the airport and we said our goodbyes at the gate--luckily she was able to come that far with me. Goodbyes were hard, but not as hard as they could have been. I think we all found comfort knowing that we would be back soon for Christmas. But I love this picture of my Mom and Kaiser watching the airplanes together.
And we made it on the airplane and were about to take off! Logan and our families treated us so much better than we could have imagined. My heart was sooo full to be leaving Logan. Until next time I suppose...
Love this little nugget and his smile

Splash Pad fun

My favorite thing to do this summer (the month of September, actually) has been to take Kaiser to the splash pad. We went one Tuesday for play group and Kaiser did fairly well. Well enough that we decided to keep going back. The more we went, the more Kaiser seemed to like it. We went 5 or 6 times in the month of September. Usually, we would go in the afternoon after he'd wake up from his naps. Then there weren't as many people around and he could play wherever he wanted.

It has been a perfect way for both of us to stay cool! Kaiser would run around getting soaked, and I would walk around bare foot.

Every time we would pull into the parking lot, Kaiser knew where we were and would start saying, "wah-dee!" (water) because he would get so excited!

Here are some pictures that I took when it was just Kaiser and I at the splash pad! He loves playing in the wah-dee!
