21 months!

Kaiser turned 21 months the day after my parents left on April 1st! I haven't done an update in a few months so I figure it's about time :)

Just a few more months and he will officially be a big boy and I don't even count in months anymore--he will be 2 so soon! I seriously feel like we just celebrated his 1st birthday. I know I say this all the time, but time seriously flies. He's such a happy little squirt. He also the smartest, cutest, most loving, funniest, and most stubborn little squirt too :)

In the last few months, Kaiser has learned so many new things and we can have actual conversations now, which has been super fun! He pretty much seems to understand everything we tell him which is nice, but he is getting to that "terrible two" stage. We spend a lot of time trying to sit him down, look him in the eyes, and explain things to him instead of yelling at him. (Some times are easier than others!) He seems to do well so far with that, and with going to "time out." He seriously is so incredibly smart--it amazes me every day that he is mine!

Here are some fun facts about Kaiser that we can think of at the moment:

* There's nothing he can't say honestly
* He's starting to put sentences together like crazy--he's a smartie (i.e. when he wakes up in the morning he will yell, "mommy det out...otaaaay!")
* He can count from 1-10 (and can sing the 1 2 buckle my show, 3 4 shut the door.... song)
* He sings the whole song of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and Wheels on the Bus and parts to lots of different songs. He loves Maroon 5 "Sugar" Katy Perry "Roar" and Taylor Swift "Shake it Off"
* Everything currently is about "woo woo stations." When we are playing it's always that we are going to go visit the woo woo station
* He is starting to make believe things a lot, which has been so fun
* When he's drinking his milk, he will share with his doggy, his monkey, or whatever toy he has with him at the time
* He still loves reading books, but is becoming quite selective. He is super into books about cars/trains/trucks/tractors/firwtrucks/ambulances/airplanes, etc... You get the point. Sometimes he likes to sit and look at nonfiction books about these items because he loves them so much
* He is such a goof--he loves making people laugh
* He has a little lisp which is still super adorable. He'll go "watch this" and do something to make us laugh--when I laugh because of how he says "watch this"
* When gets gets an owie, or notices that he has one, he will whine a little and ask me to "kiss it" or "blow on it". After I do, he always says, "all bedda!"
* Still loves Baby Einstein and it's about the only show he will sit through for longer than 20 minutes
* "On-the-Go" is his favorite Baby Einstein show right now (cuz of the airplanes, helicopters, boats and trains)
* Still doesn't want to sit through movies. But always wants to watch little clips of "shows" whether it's a "woo-woo show" or a "choo choo show" or a "heh-deh-deh-det" show, or a "tractor show"
* He loves bikes
* He sometimes talks about himself in 3rd person
* He shrugs his shoulders all the time--when he's talking to people or just walking around...it's so cute!
* He is always very willing to give mommy and daddy kisses and loves
* He loves to help me with whatever I'm doing. If I'm making lunch/dinner he will say, "help me" and pull a chair up so he can help me haha
* He calls his drink "Elmo drink"
* He goes to sleep at 2100, wakes up at 0800, and takes roughly one two-hour nap in the day
* He wears clothes anywhere from 18-24 months
* We moved him up to size 5 diapers cuz he kept peeing through at night. They're a little big on him..
* At night when we cuddle him before bed, he always says, "baby" and he likes to be held like a baby
* He loves to say his prayers, and if we forget to thank Heavenly Father for Jesus, he reminds us
* Likes to "pee-pee potty." He still hasn't pooped on the potty though, but he tells us when he is going. He does great with peeing on the potty-we take him quite often
* He throws rage fits when he gets in the car seat and tries to hit or bite us. He's never going to like it... And when he's in it, he says, "Mommy get down!" and whines...
* He has the cutest run. He lifts his feet up super high. He is pretty fast too
* He loves his piggy bank and loves to put money in it
* Just got his last 2 canine teeth, so he has all of his teeth until he starts working on his 2-year molars

Since we feel like he can and does say pretty much everything, here are a list of words that he says that we love to hear him say:

*Amblance (Ambulance)
*Woo Woo (for any type of fire truck, ambulance, police care, etc.)
*Heh-deh-deh-det (Helicopter)
*Air-pane (airplane)
*I-yah-you (I love you)
*Otaaaaay (Okay)
* Pease (please)
*Bo-bah-bo-dez (bulldozer)
*When you ask him if he likes something and he does, he'll go "nummy nummy!"
*He answers "yes" in the cutest voice with a slight lisp on the end :)
*He started responding with "I dooo" to many of the questions we ask
*Dapah-stwas (veggie straws)
*Cooter (scooter)
*Dama and Dampa (Grandma and Grandpa)
*He still  says "bobot" for both pumpkin and robot
*Has a hard time with his "r's". He will say "shaip" (sharp, shark)
*He laughs when he toots and says, "tooted, fauted (Farted) then will say "qu-meeeee"
*Cai (car)
*Daik (dark)
*Open-en it (Open it) He sometimes adds extra syllables
*Cah-lah-lin (coloring)
*Ditdahs (stickers)
*Motor daddy or cycle (motorcycle)
*Nacks (snacks)
*How-ai-you? (How are you)
*Lie-aye-yin (dinosaur/lion)

That's about all we can think of! Since I'm finally caught up on blogging and my picture taking, this post isn't a picture post.

We sure love our Kaiser man and think he is just the greatest thing in the world. He makes our lives so happy and he is definitely our greatest blessing!

Parents visit!

My parents were able to come visit us March 26-31st! It was my Mom's spring break and my Dad was able to get the time off work. It was so great having them here!

They flew into the Austin airport on Thursday, the 26th. We picked them up around 4:00--it was so great to see them! Kaiser only took one quick second to warm right up to them before they were his besties for the rest of their trip. He was greeted with an awesome USU hat--It's absolutely perfect for him!
We decided to show them around Austin from the car since we didn't have a ton of daylight left. We drove downtown and showed them the city--which is gorgeous. I love Austin! We also drove around The University Of Texas at Austin's campus and the Longhorns Stadium. From there, we went to a really yummy Texas BBQ joint that people had told us about called The Salt Lick Barbeque. It was awesome! It was not only my parent's first Texas BBQ experience, but mine and Scott's as well :)
The drive home was great--we were able to talk and catch up, and Kaiser was able to serenade them with some singing of his own. We got home and it was getting pretty late for Kaiser man so grandma and grandpa read him a quick book and he was out for the count. The rest of us only stayed up a little while longer before calling it quits for the night also.
The next couple of days were spent here in College Station. We wanted to show them some things in our town: our favorite parks, church, A&M, Kyle Field, etc... We walked to Gabbard Park and played for a little bit in the morning and then did a little bit of shopping after while Scott was at school. After shopping and Kaiser's nap, we spent a little more time showing them around the area. We ate dinner and then spent the evening at another one of our favorite parks. Kaiser was able to ride his McQueen scooter, t-ball stand and bat, and his ball. It's so fun having grandma and grandpa here to play with! I wish I got more pictures. Hopefully the videos work!
That evening, we watched The Italian Job, and we bought some Blue Bell Ice cream for my parents to try. Best ice cream ever! :)

The next morning was an Easter Egg Hunt at the George Bush Library. We had to go to that, of course! It was such a fun event! This was Kaiser's first egg hunt--He didn't quite get it at first, but quickly came around and started putting eggs in his "bobot." (1: He calls his pumpkin his bobot for some reason. 2: Yes, he went to an easter egg hunt with his Halloween pumpkin :) )
They had a bouncy house, firetruck, ambulance, police motorcycle, and a bunch of free games/treats/drinks for everyone to participate in. We enjoyed the morning exploring with Kaiser. It was such awesome weather.
During nap time, mom and I worked on sewing a project that I have been wanting to finish. It was so nice having my mom around for feedback if I needed it. I miss sewing/crafting with her. Scott and Dad had to install a lightbulb in our car after nap time, so Kaiser had to get out and "fix" his scooter, of course :) We then enjoyed a little more time outside before going to dinner at an authentic Mexican Restaurant by our house called "Coco Loco."
The next day, we went to Houston! We woke up fairly early thanks to Kaiser. I think he really has just been so excited to have grandma and grandpa here that he was waking up at like 6:45 instead of 8-8:30 like normal. Goofball... Anyways, my parents were super interested in seeing the USS Texas Battleship so we went straight there. This is the only picture that I took--since we've seen it before. Kaiser and grandpa were playing peek-a-boo in this huge tool.
After the Battleship, we ate a quick lunch that we'd packed and headed over to the Houston Children's museum! We were all happy to let Kaiser explore and do his own thing contently for a little while :) We stayed there for a good 2 hours or so before heading back to CS. We had a great time in Houston, although I think there was so much to see with so little time. We spent the evening relaxing and enjoying the company.

The next day was my parent's last full day with us. We decided to take a short drive to Brenham to tour the Blue Bell Ice Cream factory. The drive out was gorgeous...very Texas-esque. Scott unfortunately had to work so it was just me and my parents and Kaiser. We had fun touring the factory and seeing how everything worked. And the ice cream wasn't bad either :)

When finished, we took some quick pictures in the famous Texas Blue Bonnets. They sprung just in time for my parents to be here and enjoy them! We also took some in the Indian Paintbrush. Enjoy :)
The next morning, Kaiser woke us up (of course) early and we got ready and headed to the airport to say our goodbyes...which are never fun!

We had so much fun spending time with grandma and grandpa! It was seriously so great to be able to sit back and watch my little heart have the best time bonding with his "gampa and ga-ma." It melts my heart to watch them play together because he loves them so so much! As do I :) Here are a few more pictures from them being here that I loved too much to not add in.
Bedtime stories with grandma
Watchin' TV with grandpa

Spring Break 2015

This year for spring break, we decided to stay here in College Station for the most part. We felt it was best to save the money and just enjoy spending time together as a family. There really is not too much to say about it, other than I loved having the week to spend with our family without having to worry about school. It was really nice.

We started it off with a little get together with Scott's ASP class. We went over to a couple of his classmates house for dinner. Kaiser found this awesome drum set which he happily played a good portion of the night. They were so nice to let him play on it! I love his happy little face while he's drumming. He has always loved playing the drums.
We spent a lot of the week doing just normal, routine things, but it was nice to be able to do them all together. I took this picture on a Sunday evening drive because I thought he looked absolutely adorable in his sunglasses. He says, "Mommy! Batman glasses on!"
We played with playdough... He said, "Kaiser rollin' it!"

When mommy and daddy are grocery shopping--what better way to entertain yourself than to be thrown into a pile of stuffed animals? :)
Okay...enough with the day-to-day things... One afternoon, we spent the afternoon exploring Lick Creek Park here in College Station. We had heard from a lot of people that it's as close to hiking as we will get around here, and we thought it'd be a great idea to get outside. It was obvioiusly flat, but it was fun to get out and do something somewhat nature-y! Kaiser kept finding rocks and throwing them and chasing them, and repeating. He is easily entertained :) He also kept poking around the ant piles. Stupid fire ants...
We drove down to Houston one day with our friends to explore the USS Texas Battleship that is docked in La Porte. It is something that Scott has been wanting to see since we moved down here so it was great to see it. This ship was amazing! It was in both WWI and WWII (Fought in many battles, including Iwo Jima and D-Day!) here are some pictures from the boat:
There were beds/hooks for beds all over the ship! It was pretty crazy!
Barber shop
The operating room
Sick Bay
Just cuz I thought this was funny
Bathroom stalls. (Picture it without the glass back then!)
Kaiser and his friend Owen on a bullet (mistle?)
The pilot house! Loved seeing this!
It was so much fun being able to go see a little more of history. We loved going with our friends. After we finished at the boat, we took lunch to a picnic area and let the kids run around and play before heading back home.

Spring break came and went too quickly. It was actually nice this year to just stay home and relax as a family. After Kaiser went to bed, Scott and I got to spend time together and catch up on a lot of movies that we hadn't seen yet. It was chill, but we had a fun spring break!
