Christmas break in Texas

Our Christmas break started the day Scott finished school! December 11, 2014. We bought tickets to the infamous "Santa's Wonderland" held just South of College Station. It is one of the biggest light shows around and it's HUGE here so we had to try it out.

We got our tickets and followed this cute little Christmasy path to the entrance of Santa's Wonderland. These are a few photos we snapped along the way:
When we went through the entrance--it truly felt magical! There was fake snow falling in the wonderland, and cute little shops everywhere, Christmas music playing, a warm cozy fire pit, and just so many wonderful sights to see. It actually felt like Christmas for me, even though we weren't in the cold and snow!
We walked through the wonderland for a while before getting on our sleigh ride for our light show. The lights were again magical! It explained Texas culture perfectly and it was brilliant!
We had a great time celebrating the beginning of the Christmas season. It was a perfect way to start it all of and set the tone.

That weekend, College Station was putting on a bunch of Christmas activities at Wolf Pen Creek District. So of course we had to check it out. We took a fun tractor ride up to WPC park where the activities began.
Once up there, there were vendors we could check out, snow globes and bouncy houses, and the works. But Kaiser wasn't super interested in doing those things so we moved on quickly. We went and saw yet another petting zoo. Kaiser was able to pet a bunch of the same animals as he did when we did it for Halloween. He also got to pet a monkey, some goats, a tortoise, a kangaroo, and many other animals! He had so much fun because they were all small enough that they didn't overwhelm him. It was so fun to watch him explore and learn.
We then moved over to the choo choo train ride. This was completely magical for Kaiser to experience. The line wasn't incredibly long but it felt so long for Kaiser. He was so excited when it was finally his turn to ride (with mommy, of course).
This was his face literally the whole time. He had so much fun!

It was fun to experience the Christmas season in a different atmosphere. Kaiser was still able to still go outside and play at the park, and we attended two Christmas parades where we saw Santa on his sleigh!

We headed to Utah on December 16th to spend Christmas with our families. But before I blog about that, I wanted to show you photos from our ward Christmas party when Kaiser met Santa!
The only reason he even thought about sitting on Santa's lap is because he gave Kaiser a candy cane
Okay mom--I'm done now!
Get me outta here!!!
Maybe next year, Santa! We enjoyed our first Christmas season in Texas! Next up: Utah!
