Life in SLC

As an excuse for not doing my homework, I thought that updating the blog on our summer happenings would be appropriate :)  As hopefully all of you know, Scott and I moved down to Salt Lake so that I could finish up my degree in Social Work.  This is our small, yet humble abode....minus our bedroom and the bathroom :)
We are working on the decorations...
Life here is definitely a change of pace, but I am adjusting more and more each day.  Scott seems to have no problem adjusting to the "bigger city" life.  It has definitely been harder for me to leave behind Logan and all of our friends and family and jobs that went with it.  Scott misses everyone, of course, but he is just so easygoing that it isn't as bad for him.

We were able to do a lot of fun things over the summer.  I surprised Scott after work one day with Bee's Tickets, so we went to a Bee's game.

We also went up to Bear Lake a couple of times and had a blast hanging out with the family!

We also went to Park City with Scott's mom, Curtis, and his family.  Curtis' niece was able to get us free passes up at Olympic Park to ride the bobsled run, alpine slide, and the zip line.  They were all amazing!!
This is us right before our bobsled run!
This video of Scott riding the slide makes me laugh every time I watch it...he might get mad if he knew I put it up, but oh well :)

We were also able to spend a weekend up in Rexburg with Scott's dad and Andrea!  We went up for cousin Rachel's wedding and I was able to meet more of my new family, (who were all wonderful!) and spend some time at Andrea's mom's house.  It was so fun!

And of course, nothing beats chilling at home with the family.  My nephew, Boston just turned 1 and my Brother and Sister, Cody and Chelsesa, did such a great job planning his day!  It has been nice to be with family since who knows how often we will be able to in the future with our busy schedules!

Now that school started, we definitely do not see enough of each other.  I am doing homework a lot, but thankfully most of the time it is when Scott is at work.  He works 4 ten hour days at Verizon and is really liking it.  School for me is going well.  It is keeping me busy which is definitely what I need.  I am also doing my practicum at Starlight Program.  I am a Family Consultant for the foster children and proctor parents right now, and soon will move up to "therapist" status.  I am assigned kids to "track" and meet with at least once a week.  We talk about goals, problem behaviors, etc.  I am definitely learning a lot.

Anyways...that is all I can think of for now!  I'll write more when something else pops up :)  We miss you all!
