Back in May, we got invited to a little camping get-away by Scott's cousin Tyson. Him and his wife Kendyl live in Katy, but we haven't ever gotten together with them until now! So we were pretty excited to go! This was the first time we were getting to Galveston, and the first time we have ever taken Kaiser camping overnight as well so we were excited to go!
We went to Galveston State Park camping, which is literally across the street from the ocean (or Gulf--whatever)! But it was a good day to get there....slightly overcast and not too hot yet! We got to our campsite and started setting up camp!

The first time we got to use our tent! How fun! |
The only complaint we had was how many bugs were around! There were tons and tons of those annoying love bugs and a ton of mosquitos. We had to instantly put on insect repellant, but I somehow managed to get a huge one on my face. Ouch!
We heard it might start to thunderstorm so we didn't necessarily want to get all the kids in their swimmies just to have it pour, so we drove over to the beach just to walk around a little bit, and Kaiser and Tyson's kids went nuts playing in the water! The Island doesn't have the prettiest beaches but it was still the ocean and we had the best time playing. This was Kaiser's first time seeing the ocean and stepping foot in the ocean! He was absolutely in LOVE! Here are some pics :)
So, funny story--while we were there, Kaiser ran right out of his pants, and right out of his diaper. I guess he wanted to feel the water on all his parts haha!
And a little video...
After we got back from the beach we went back to our campsite and built a fire and all just hung out together. It was so much fun getting to know Tyson's family a little bit better! Their kids are adorable! Kaiser absolutely loved playing with them, and they were so nice to let Kaiser play!
The night went well--Kaiser went down great and had no problem sleeping through the night. It wasn't as easy for Scott and I though lol. Kaiser slept in his pack and play and we slept on an air mattress. I guess we just don't sleep well when we camp. That's okay though it was still so much fun! That morning we headed over to the lake so Scott and Tyson could take the canoe out fishing. Kendyl and I stayed on shore while Scott and Tyson took Kaiser and Tyson's little girl out.
After that we went to the beach for the day. It was the perfect day well spent! Kaiser had a blast with the "big waves"! Here are a couple pictures that Scott managed to take with our GoPro.
We had a day well spent! Great adventures with great family! It didn't take long for Kaiser to fall asleep in his car seat on the way home...
