Kaiser's Turns 2!!

The beginning of July is such a wonderful time of year for us! Kaiser turning 2 is one of many wonderful milestones we celebrate this month. Kaiser turned 2 years old on July 1, 2015. (I can't believe we have a 2 year old.) Anyway, since we planned to have Kaiser's Birthday party on July 3rd, we didn't make too many special plans for his birthday, but we still had a great day and I think he felt special!

In the morning Scott, Kaiser, and I met up with Toni, Chelsea, Boston, and Emery to go see Kaiser's first movie in theaters! They were doing a fun little weekly summer movie special and the movie playing was called "Turbo." Kaiser did great for almost the entire time! He was pretty amazed at how big the screen was and wouldn't take his eyes off of it for the longest time. It was so cute to watch, I wish we could have gotten a good picture of it. About 45 minutes into the movie, he started getting antsy and wanting to play a little more. But we stayed in the theater anyways and were glad the movie was fairly short. I think he had fun, but we will still wait until he is a little bit older for the next movie we take him to!

In the afternoon, we thought we would take him to the Jump Zone for the very first time. Kaiser loves jumping on trampolines so we figured this would be fabulous for him to get to experience. And boy, we were right! He was in heaven the whole time! He had a lot of people there to watch him too--what a very loved boy he is! It was hard to get super good pictures because of all the movement, but here is a few...
Blurry, but look at that cute grin!
The jump zone was definitely a hit--and boy, what a way to tire out the kids! Kaiser guzzled his whole water bottle afterwards. So cute!

We stopped at the store on the way home to let Kaiser pick out some donuts for him and his cousins for his birthday, since we weren't doing a cake until the 3rd. We took them back to my parents house and sang happy birthday to him. I really think he felt special even though he got a little shy when we sang to him. He loves the birthday song and had been singing it to himself all that day. It makes my mommy heart happy to see him so happy. He blew out "the fire" on his donut and went to town...
His face during the singing lol
One happy 2 year old right there...
Since I didn't make Kaiser's 2 year well child check appointment until we got home on August 11th, his stats are probably only a tiny bit different. But here are his 2 YEAR stats:

Height: 36 inches -- 84th percentile
Weight: 28 pounds 4 ounces -- 49th percentile
Head: 50.2 cm or 19.76 in -- 83rd percentile

He only had to have one shot at this appointment and it was his Hepatitis A shot. He did wonderfully.

Again, since i'm so far behind on blogging, here are a few milestones or things that I remember about Kaiser man at his 2 years of life:

*June 15, just 23.5 months old, he started putting sentences together. His first sentences were, "Daddy, where are you?" (As he was watching out the window looking for him...) and "No, mommy-you do it like this!" (As we were playing toys.)
*July 15, found 2 new y-year molars. Bottom right and top left. Poor little nugget. His 2-year molars were the hardest sets of teeth yet. They took so long to come in and caused the most grief out of any teeth he's gotten yet.
*He is super independent and loves to figure things out on his own. When I ask if he wants any help, he says, "No mom, I got it"
*His language is off the charts, as always. He is very articulate and can say what he needs to always
*He goes to sleep at 8:30 and wakes up around 7:30 or 8:00
*He takes 1 nap a day still for about 2 hours give or take a little
*Showed a ton of interest in potty training a couple months ago, and now doesn't want anything to do with it. Even though I know he is fully capable of being successful and doing great.
*Very stubborn and strong willed just like his parents
*His imagination is really taking off and it's so fun to see him play and make things up
*Very strong--he says he has "huge muscles" haha
*He loves to read books. He has started wanting to sit and look at them by himself now along with the usual 1-2 books before nap and bedtime
*He has really gotten into the child nonfiction books, which I find so cute. We learn lots about animals, space, dinosaurs, etc.
*He is obsessed with airplanes, trucks, tractors, animals, dinosaurs, and still all things "boy"
*He is full blown into his terrible twos. He handles stress with aggression, which has been super difficult on our house. The hitting is terribly frustrating.
*He loves to play with others and gets frustrated when they don't want to play with him. It breaks my mommy heart. He has passed parallel play
*Eating is hit and miss with Kaiser. He likes corn, carrots, peas, quesadillas, corn dogs, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, cereal, bananas, oranges, pickles, oatmeal, suckers (or any candy really-but suckers are his favorite), rice, noodles, yogurt raisins, peaches, goldfish, applesauce, junk food, etc. He will or won't eat things depending on his mood or if he's really hungry. With food, he is just hit and miss.
*Is a total outside boy. The world is his playground and he is happy as long as he can be outside. (Good thing we live in Texas...)
*He got a tricycle from Grandma and Grandpa Lehman for his birthday and it took him like, 2 days to learn how to ride it before he became a pro. He is a master at figuring things out quickly.
*He is a good helper at home with laundry, cooking, and emptying the dishwasher
*He loves to go on walks. He will either walk (or run, gallop like a horse, or walk backwards) or ride his tricycle or scooter.
*He loves dance parties
*He loves music. He always asks to listen to "Kaiser music" when we are at home or in the car
*He knows his colors well for the most part, and can count from at least 1-20. He knows some letters too and we are working on those.
*He knows what certain kind of airplanes are and he knows the parts on airplanes and helicopters. He is so smart and loves to learn.
*He is also very compassionate. He is always generous with his kisses and loves
*Still hates hair cuts
*He loves to watch "How to Train your Dragon." It's the first movie that he will actually sit through the longest and ask to watch over and over again. He also still like airplane shows and firetruck shows on YouTube. He likes Daniel Tiger, and Sesame Street.

Here is the most adorable photo of him just before his 2nd Birthday:

We love Kaiser so much and he really is the light of our family. I love how innocent he is and how happy he is. He really puts life and happiness into perspective for me. I am so thankful for all that he teaches me each day. He is so very well loved by his Mom and Dad.
