So, I've been feeling like we needed to do one more big family outing activity before the arrival of baby number 2. It has been such nice weather here lately, so I thought it would be fun to go back down to Houston and see the zoo again. So we went on Saturday, February 27th!
We had a great time all together--and Kaiser was super excited to see all the animals! This time was a little different than last time just because he was a little older. (We didn't even put him in diapers at all to make the day easier--and he didn't pee through once!) We took the stroller but he mostly just walked with us and was a lot more independent than he was last time.
We love the Houston Zoo! It is seriously such a fun place to go hang out for the day!
Our favorite animals this time had to have been the elephants. They were so cute. All 3 of us loved the elephants the most. There were two little baby elephants and lots of big elephants. They were putting on a good show for us. The zookeeper even came and were spraying the elephants off with water and was giving them a drink. They loved it and we loved watching them!
We saw the monkeys, the lions, tigers, bears, etc...all the fun other animals. We got pretty up close and personal with this male gorilla. He was sitting right up by the window with his backside towards us. Lately, Kaiser is so curious about bums, so this was interesting to him. He definitely got a good look of the gorilla's bum haha :)

The traditional zoo photo--I think we took one like this last time :) |
We were there for at least a good three hours. Kaiser was so exhausted by the end--he literally fell asleep in the car while drinking his water haha! What a cutie. He was such a good boy!
On our way home--we decided to take a little detour and drive to the Houston temple, since we have never even been. Bad us...
It was a really pretty temple. It was fun to be able to spend a little time on the grounds and teaching Kaiser more about the temple.

Overall, we had one good big last family outing with just the three of us. Bring on baby number 2!
