The rest of April and first little bit of May, we spent our time trying to not be stressed out about finding Scott a job, finishing and defending his thesis, and trying to soak in as much of College Station as possible before it was time to move elsewhere.
Scott had seriously applied to hundreds of jobs. He got one interview up in Dallas and came in second place. He was getting so frustrated and I felt bad for him. But somehow through all of what was going on, I was able to be calm and felt assured that Scott was doing all he could, and that something would work out.
Spring in College Station is so nice. It's warm but it isn't as warm as September so we were still able to be outside and have it be enjoyable haha.
Here are some pictures of what has been going on in my and the boy's life, since Scott was literally spending as much time as he could at school finishing things up and applying for ALL the jobs.
Sometimes during Kaiser's naps, Koen and I would snuggle and hang out. I loved spending quality time bonding with Koen. It was definitely relaxing.
We took our last trip to the coolest fire station we have EVER seen. CS6 Fire Station. A friend in our playgroup set up a time for all of us to go take a tour and listen to the fireman speak to us. It was probably the most fun tour we had out here! One firefighter put on all the gear to show the kids what they would look like in a fire and to not be scared. The kids got to go up to them and give the fire fighter a high five!
We then got to see all the supplies and tools on the fire truck. Kaiser thought that the ax was awesome! He has always loved the axes on the fire truck ever since we got him a fire truck book with axes in it. Then they got to sit in the fire truck. It was awesome and we will definitely miss the friendliness of all the servicemen here in College Station.

Isn't this such an awesome looking fire station? #2 coolest in the world! |
Kaiser was excited to play in the tub with Koen for the first time! Koen's chord finally fell off so he was able to get in with big brother. Kaiser loved being in the tub with Koen and Koen finally didn't scream during bath time :) It was a win win.
ONE MONTH! Koen still loved his binki so much. We swaddled him at night and he was the wiggliest little boy even in his swaddle. He was waking up 1-2 times in the middle of the night to eat still. And still breastfeeding and bottle feeding him. Scott and I would put Kaiser to bed first and then Koen would stay up with Scott and I until we went to bed. We enjoyed snuggling with him. That was usually when Scott and Koen would get to bond because Scott was working so hard during the days.
We spent plenty of time getting out and enjoying the fresh air. This was Gabbard Park--Our favorite "rock park." Even if nobody was able to come to the park with us, we still got out to keep all of our sanity. That was something that helped me so much with my depression after having Koen. This is a picture of Kaiser drawing his family in the sand with sticks, just like he learned on "The Good Dinosaur."
This favorite park of ours also has a little pond where ducks and turtles live. We loved feeding the ducks on a regular basis, and catching turtles when we could. Such fun experiences were had here.
Best rain storms ever are in Texas! I always want to remember what we would do when a rain storm would happen. Texas rainstorms were usually warm. Not only would it rain, but it would pour! Gutters and streets would flood. It was awesome! And Kaiser took every opportunity he could to play in the water. He would lay in the gutters and splash as shown below. He would drive his trucks in the gutters, and splash with his plastic baseball bat.
These are just cute pictures I took of Koen growing up so quick. Why do they have to grow so quick?!
After the rainstorms, most of the parks would be flooded. But that didn't stop us from going and playing. We would just go play and then come home and tub. Friends would join us whenever possible. It was always Jenepher and Emily.<3 .="" p="">3>
After the park in the morning one day, we stopped at Emily's on a particularly humid day to eat a popsicle.
We took a trip as a family to the arcade so Scott could enjoy some bonding with Kaiser. I honestly don't know who liked it more--Kaiser or Scott haha!
People always ask me how we survive the Texas weather. I always say we play outside at the park in the morning until it gets too hot, and then in the afternoon we cool off by swimming at the pool!
Koen was about 1.5 months in this photo when I put him in his little swimmie for the first time. Little did I know when we got to the pool, he decided to sleep instead of play. So we all enjoyed getting in instead.
We seriously have the best support system here. So many friends and so many friends for Kaiser to play with. I don't think I will ever find this again in my entire life. College Station is so special for this very reason. All these lovely ladies right here.
Here are just some cute pictures of us doing our thing at home.
