When we got back to Texas, I worked quickly to get my new insurance figured out so I could choose am OB Doctor for my pregnancy. I have a few friends here who highly recommended Dr. Davis at Scott and White Hospital. So that's who I chose.
I had my first appointment with a nurse on August 14th. Since it was just talking with the nurse, they gave me the option to do it over the phone and I happily accepted! During the phone call they set me up with my appointment to meet my Doctor and get my first ultrasound! (Finally!)
We had our first ultrasound on August 27th. We took Kaiser with us so he could begin to get the idea, even though he has no idea still what it means when mom says there's a baby in her belly. And up until this point, we still hadn't really told anybody but parents and a couple others. We just like the idea of seeing that everything looks okay and that the baby looks healthy before we decide to tell the world. So that's what we did.
The ultrasound looked great. We could see the little baby and the little baby's heartbeat just flickering away. It was such a special magical, relieving moment to know that so far, everything looks good. The baby was measuring right on with what we thought it's due date was, which is March 11, 2016! Yay for babies! Here are our ultrasound pictures:
